About Simone
I come from Johannesburg, South Africa and spent 17 years in London from 1987 to 2004.
I trained as a clinical psychologist completing my BA (Hons) in psychology in SA and my master’s degree in London. While in the UK I worked for the charity MIND as well as for youth organisations.
I then moved into human resource management and worked primarily with start-up businesses. My skills involved establishing the company’s culture, recruiting staff, setting up incentives and benefits, putting training and development in place, and ensuring that the leadership was aligned.
On returning to South Africa, I worked in change management for 16 years, predominately in the banking and mining industry. This gave me a solid understanding of the process people go through to adopt and embrace change.
I am a certified International Change Manager and am passionate about driving change in organisations. My experience has given me a deep knowledge of people in a wide range of contexts, and I am skilled in helping people make the required transitions.
I value honesty, integrity, courage and kindness. I am straightforward and sincere, and my word is my bond. I operate with authenticity, am transparent and not afraid to wear my troubles on my sleeve. I embrace my vulnerability and do not befriend worry.
I believe that I am the master of my own life and that there is nothing more important than being in the moment in a fully present state.
I am passionate about people and about helping them find meaning and purpose, and I have always been interested in self-development.
I have two young-adult children from whom I learn daily.
